I can’t with this hand painted lamp shade. How cute for a kids room? Little kitchen nook? You can even do a custom one if you want to get really creative!

3. Back to School

Ok, I have to admit. Calamity Club is still large and in charge on my bedside table. But I have heard such amazing things I am excited to tackle it. I am currently reading Night Watch which I saw suggested on Temple Studios summer reading list. My Book Club’s next pick is Into the Blue so I also need to sneak that in before the end of October. I clearly have a lot of homework to do!!

4. Getting Crafty

I feel like I am the only one around these parts who doesn’t needlepoint but I do really love things like this. How can I do it on a cocktail napkin or thin dishtowel? A stocking? Someone please help me, winter is coming!

5. Underwater Weaving Studio

Of course, I always need to include a basket. I am currently loving this “New England Shopping” one.

6. Pull out your pencils

Always and forever, my favorite. I buy in bulk. My kids steal. I get mad and have to stash in secret hiding spots. Then I can’t find them when I need them. Such is life.

7. Let’s be civilized

Speaking of kids, I feel like over the summer our eating habits get a little off the rails. A chicken finger snagged as they run through a sprinkler. Half a grilled cheese eaten off the floor. Let’s rein it back in and set the table and all sit down for a second. I like how these raffia placemats are not a fortune and can just bring it up a notch. There is also a cute green gingham if that’s your thing. Now, kids, how was your day?

9. Oh Rosie

I love Rosie Harbottle. I admire the almost patchwork feel and folk art vibe of her work. Her website says she “Draws on close observation of the natural world, her paintings explore cycles of growth, renewal and transformation through flowers, plants and place.” This really hits home to me.
